About TURPA Chicago native and resident of New York and Chicago, Lono Brazil has lived in Los Angeles for 12 years where he worked as a Radio Show Host/DJ on "The Global Village (KPFK 90.7 FM Los Angeles) and produced music for television shows like the Living Channel's "I-DESIGN". An avid record collector, Lono Brazil has always had a love for electronic music and now has channelled that passion into becoming a well sought after Producer/Remixer. Creating dance remixes for Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans and Omarion he has developed a worldwide following in the underground dance community. His work hobby as a DJ has also become a successful profession, spinning for private events and parties for clients such as the "X-MEN2" premier party and Will Smith's celebration for Jada Pinkett-Smith's birthday. Lono has also played records as a DJ at the Cuban Photo Exhibit By Rick Klotz at Red Five, San Francisco and record release parties for Faith Evans and Raphel Saadiq. On the fashion scene he has garnered a formidable reputation for crafting sound design and creating memorable musical environments for Harper's Bazzar Magazine, Decades (LA), Essence Magazine, Honey Magazine, Strange Invisible Perfumes, James Ferragamo (Grandson of Legendary shoe designer SALVATORE FERRAGAMO), LVMH, MISSONI, NIKE, Bebe, and UNICEF among others. Lono Brazil has also held down residencies at nightclubs and bars including Gold's (Tokyo, Japan), Freds (London, England), Reign (Beverly Hills, CA), Les Deux Cafes (Los Angeles, CA), Sunset Room (Los Angeles, CA), The Standard Hotel (Los Angeles, CA.), Star Shoes (Los Angeles, CA) and countless one-offs in San Francisco, Chicago and New York over the years. And lately at APT. New York City and Sonotheque in Chicago. Lono Brazil also has extensive record label experience, having worked as an executive at CAPITOL/EMI RECORDS. He is better known in Hip-Hop circles as an Executive Producer/Artist Manager who worked with and helped to launch the careers of artists such as The Beastie Boys, The Pharcyde, Foxy Brown, Kool Keith, Channel Live, Adrianna Evans,Spragga Benz and Ras Kass to name a few. He has also worked as a marketing consultant and artist development specialist for LOUD RECORDS and ISLAND RECORDS. A player in the original wave of electronic music producers from Chicago, Lono was instrumental in bringing House Music, African, Latin, Soul and Electronic to the forefront of the music scene and is still to this day regarded as a true ambassador of quality music. TURP CREATIVE GROUP, LLC is the umbrella company established by Lono in 2005 to expedite his creative endeavors. As a designer/artist he has a fashion line in the works TURP BRAND CLOTHING CO. and the record label imprint Cottage Groove Recordings. As a producer he has a number of records in the works due to drop in Fall/Winter 2007 as well as more dance remixes.
